Faravahar symbol

  1. Faravahar's face is like human, so Faravahar is a wise and experienced old man, a sign of thanks to the elders and scholars and learn from them.
  2. Two wings on the sides that each one of them has three layers (feather) as sign of good thoughts, good words and good deeds which are motivation for the flight and progression at the same time.
  3. In lower body of Faravahar there are three parts which are feather to down, as sign of bad thoughts, bad words and bad deeds, so following it is known as the beginning of disaster for humankind.
  4. Two strands which at the end of each, a ring can be seen along the lower part that are symbol of Spenta Mainyu and Angra Mainyu that one is before the foot and another is in the foot of the foot. Each one of these strands trying to absorb the human to it. So it means that human should follow Spenta Mainyu (the Goodness)and should reject Angra Mainyu (the Badness).
  5. There is a circle in the middle of bust Faravahar. This sign is eternal spirit which has no beginning and no end.
  6. Faravahar's one hand is a little to up and toward the Spenta Mainyu that shows praise to Ahoura Mazda and guidance for human toward the grandness and truth and integrity.
  7. In another hand there is a ring which is sign of loyalty to the promise and shows truly and brightness and generosity.

Faravahar is one of the inner forces that Zoroastrians believe existed before the creatures and after their death and destruction goes up to the universe and remains stable. As this spiritual force that can be called the essence of life, there is no death and decay for it.
